He led deal execution investment teams in sourcing, structuring, underwriting, and closing of 30 ambulatory medical group practice acquisitions of more than 125 primary and specialty care physicians, producing $100M in incremental annual health system revenue. As a hands-on executive strategist and a physician practice leader, he has been able to communicate at all levels of the organization while leading administration and financial success. Bernardo has delivered best-in-class services to elevate customer experience, building sustainable operations with growing profits and stakeholder value. At GE Equity Capital Group, the private investment arm of GE, Bernardo invested in 20 private equity and venture capital transactions committing $196M for a 30% portfolio IRR through trade sale and IPO exits. Examples include Insight Health Services where an $18M investment led to a $21M gain on exit and a 23% IRR, and Alliance Imaging where an $18M investment led to a $33M exit for a 124% IRR.
